What is the difference between regular golf balls and X-Out balls?

I bought some XOUT balls from Nike for 10 bucks/dozen. Is this a good deal? What does X-OUT mean?

An X-Out ball is the result of a mistake in the manufacturing process.

X-Outs are name-brand golf balls on which that brand has been stamped out, usually with a row of X’s, because of imperfections in the ball. Those imperfections are often cosmetic in nature, and usually so small as not to be noticeable. The balls usually play the same as their counterparts, or at least close enough that most recreational players could never tell the difference.

Let’s use Titleist for the sake of illustration. If during the manufacturing process some tiny little error occurs and the resulting balls are not up to Titleist standards, the company will not package those balls and try to pass them off as Titleist golf balls.

But Titleist doesn’t want to toss them out with the garbage either, because that would be a complete loss of money. So instead, Titleist stamps a row of X’s across the "Titleist" name on the ball, packages such balls in generic packaging and puts a very cheap price on them. Titleist still makes money, and many golfers get practice balls – or play balls – on the cheap.

TaylorMade TP red & black golf balls?

I have read all sorts of articles on TayorMade’s TP red and black golf balls and how they compare to Titleist Pro V1 & V1x. Many have said that:

Pro V1 = TP red (softer, more spin)
Pro V1x = TP black (firmer, less spin)

and yet others have said the complete opposite. Any thoughts or opinions? I also, have heard that the TaylorMade switched the colors, the old red is now the black and the old black is now the red. Is there any truth to that? I am confused as to what are the characteristics of the TP red as compared to the TP black. HELP!

Based on the 2008 model the spin rate for the Pro V1 is 11,914 rpm. The spin rate for the TaylorMade TP Red is 11,872 rpm. The spin rate for the Pro V1x is 12,299 and the spin rate for the TaylorMade TP Black is 12,062. The TP Black had a softer cover than the Pro V1, but not the ProV1x. Both TaylorMade balls are longer than the Titleist balls based on a robot preset with a 90 mph swing speed, 137 mph ball speed, 13.75 degree launch angle and 2900 rpm.

How about while others blow whistles at basketball games, other people throw golf balls while they play golf? ?

If millions would quit watching super rich people hit golf balls, play basketball, football, baseball, hockey and spend their money in the community it would make the world a better place. it’s time to not alow The Protocols Of Zion to guide us along.

wow, you really took that story in a different direction… how about stop wasting your time on the internet and going out and serving your community

Suggestions for golf gifts – I’m to donate a club of choice to a charity outing?

As the title says I am donating a club of choice to a charity golf outing – the club/donation will be raffled off to one of the participating players – and I am looking for suggestions as far as what to donate. I’d like to donate something that will stand out and be desired as a prize by as many entrants as possible, but also something that would actually be useful to the winner. I am looking for direction as far as what type of club (ie driver, iron, wedge, putter, etc) and brand/model would fit the criteria. Beyond a club donation if there are any suggestions for pros and club fitting services in the NYC area, the information would be more than appreciated.

a scotty cameron putter hell id try to win it lol

Nike power distance soft vs Wilson Staff zip golf ball ?

For the money I really like the nike power distance soft golf ball. Haven’t tried the Wilson Staff zip golf ball yet but am interested. Any experience with both? Like to get your opinion. Thanks.

ive used both of these balls and i preferred the nike distance soft. i felt like it had good touch around the green and at the same time hit well off the tee. I think maybe subconsciously i didnt like the wilson probably because it was a wilson. Also, if it aint broke than dont fix it, so id stick with the nike

Golf Ballls?

What do you think personalized Titleist Pro V1’s, Pro V1x’s, or Nike One Black? Should I get 2 dozen of one certain ball? Or mix it up a bit?

I would go with the Pro V1…unless your swing speed is higher than 100 mph with your driver. Also, Titleist is normally faster with personalization. As for the Nike One Black, it’s an okay ball, but nothing beats a Titleist.

What is the best make of golf balls?

I will be buying about 30 used golf balls and I have a choice of either
pinnicle, topflite, maxfli, Dunlop, precept & wilson.
I want to know what is the best make, what is the most expensive?

Depends on the balls – the make is only half the story. All are decent balls potentially (except the Dunlops maybe), so try a search for the exact model as most manufacturers produce a wide variety.

If you’re looking for a distance ball, take either Pinnacle or Topflite; both are known for making good, durable, far-flying 2-piece balls. If you want something with more spin and feel, you’ll definitely want to check exactly which balls you’re getting.

I’m not keen on Wilson – even the pro/staff balls are fairly ordinary although their ‘Staff’ equipment is much better than the plain ‘Wilson’ branded stuff which is mediocre. Also note that Topflite are owned by Callaway and Maxfli by Adidas/TaylorMade so even if they might be the ‘cheaper’ options but they are still good balls.
