http://www.TrueGuideForYou.com/golf – Best Golf Swing Tips and Guide
The best golf swings effortlessly combine ideal stance, grip, posture and swing motion.
If all these elements do not work in tandem, various aspects of the swing can suffer.
1.Grip Tips
A good grip is needed to control the clubhead so that it hits the ball at a straight angle.
The two main grips are the overlapping grip (Vardon) and the interlocking grip.
2.Stance Tips
Always keep your feet shoulder-width apart. You want to keep the ball at the front-midpoint between your legs.
This means that the ball will be off center, slightly closer to your front foot.
A helpful way to imagine your stance is to think of railroad tracks. If the ball is on one of the rails, you will want your feet on the other rail.
3.Swing Tips
Now that you have some tips for the proper swing setup, it’s time to tackle the swing motion itself.
The golf swing has three basic parts:
- the takeaway (when the club is pulled back),
- the backswing (when the club is cocked)
- and the downswing (when the swing releases and hits the ball).
4.Troubleshooting Your Swing
If you find yourself slicing the ball, it’s possible that your clubface is too far open.
On the other hand, if your ball hooks, you may have a closed clubface. To hit the ball straight, you want your clubface to be square.

I usually shoot a 45 on nine holes and I’m 14, I drive around 220. I don’t spin the ball much on approach shots but I do have some spin. I sometimes have a little hook or slice but I hardly ever have a really bad one. I don’t want to spend the money on titleist pro v1 or any $50 ball
I work at a club and find my golf balls in the heavy roughs. I have enough to last me until retirement…..forty years from now. Unless you’re in the semi-pro tour, you don’t really need to buy golf balls.

I am getting a new set of clubs for Christmas (long way off, I know, but today was like 55*F and raining and not golf weather, and my course will be closed soon), BUT: I am a 14 year old (6′1") who can drive 190-205, but I am on a budget. At my Target, they have Callaways, Nike, and Top-Flite among others.
Callaway and Nike both have excellent stuff, but the Top-Flite is way better budget wise.
So, in the Top-Flite’s I am deciding between D2 Distance-for more distance or D2 Feel-Soft and is good on and around greens.
I would really like honest opinion about whether I should get a soft ball that feels great off the club and good for scoring, or one a little firmer, but not too hard, that gives me about 5-15 more yards off the tee.
I’m actually just a beginner- started a couple months ago, so am I doing pretty good distancewise (190-205)?
Well il be honost. but its to improve your game so dont take it the wrong way. Im guessing sense you can only drive 190-205 that your not a great golfer. But i would recommend a top flite because they are firmer and you wont hit as many hooks or slices with a lower spin ball (firmer ball is the same thing). And once you get better move up to a soft ball and your game will get even better.
Good luck.
Edit: Thats what i expected, probably a beginner. and 205 is really good for a beginner so you want to get more accuracy out of your ball which is why you should use a harder ball (Top Flite)

I use a donnay evolution driver at the moment, it cost £100 for 12 clubs so that works out at about £8. I prefer the donnay 3 wood as the 1 wood hits only about the same distance and normally with much more slice
I am now looking at getting a decent driver with a 460cc head, I have found the Ben Sayers Benny for £70. I don’t really care what make I get I just want to make sure I am going to be able to hit it about 40 yards further and more accurately than my 8 quid donnay.
I dont have long so got to be quick.
The donnay may be the best club for you…..also it could be the worst….
Each club is made differently (shaft, loft, kick points, grip etc)
Go to American Golf (we have one in the UK)
Tell them to same thing and you can try out different drivers on the machine they have. From this they will be able to tell you/ help you with what driver will suit you the best by narrowing down points. eg. swing speed to pick a shaft. Loft of hit for the loft of the club.
etc etc etc
good luck
ps I did this and I love the driver I have. I have only a cheapish Jack Nicklous driver and I was aiming for a top dog dollar expensive thing

I’m a right-hander. I’ve had an injured left shoulder since 2003. When I lift weights, I sometimes have sharp pain, and lately, I’ve noticed it’s weaker than my right shoulder. It seems to have gotten weaker recently. I’ve had trouble with my golf swing. I slice the ball a lot. I’ve worked hard on my form, but it’s not working. I realize mechanics still need work…but could this weak left shoulder be part of it?
having an injured shoulder definietly affects your golf swing, your slicing the ball alot probably because ur left shoulder is weak and drops down lower then it should while hitting the ball. If you really do have pain like you say you do then u should rehab ur shoulder until its back to strength again. If you dont rehab ur shoulder u will have that pain and weakness in your shoulder for the rest of ur life.

Has anyone played the Nike Ignite or Titleist NXT Extreme Golf Balls? They price is about the same for both as the Bridgestone balls. They all read like they do the same thing from each company’s website. I did like the Bridgestone E6 balls I was able to test for the most part. Just curious what feedback some others who have played them think of them.
I am a high handicapper (around a 28) so need something that has low spin. I sometimes slice, but most of the time it is a nice little fade. My chipping is improving, as well as my short game. So, I would like something that feels soft and will hold the green.
I have been using 2 piece balls like the Top Flite Super Straight XL 5000 but it feels like hitting a rock and I hate that. I’d like a ball that is a little softer feel.
Basically I need a ball that spins very little to reduce the sidespin on my ball. But, I won’t the best of both worlds and have something soft around the green. Has anyone played a
Golfblog,
I had considered the Callaway Hot but your review, as well as others I have read, don’t see to give me what I am looking for on and around the green. I guess it is more important that I play well around and on the green than to hit it longer since you only hit a driver about 14 times a round. It seems your review of the Bridgestone E6 confirmed this. Now my question is, for others, how they compare against the Nike Ignite Ball and the Titleist NXT Extreme ball?
I regularly play the Titleist NXT’s both extreme and tour pretty much exclusively. I buy them new on ebay. I go through about 6 dozen a year. I think they are the best in terms of durability and performance. The NXT tour spins better around the greens. it checks up out of the bunkers and on short pitches, rather than flipping over and releasing. The extremes will flip over more but are generally straighter on the long shots. I cant tell you about bridgestones because i have never played them. I have played some various Nike balls with out much to say about them. The Nike ones are too expensive and i beat them up too easily. Trees and cart paths are bad news to the thin covers. The same goes for the Pro V’s. I need something i can bounce off the path or off a tree and not have to replace. In my opinion the cheap balls like DT’s and top flites are way too hard especially when you are trying to be delicate around the green. I recommend the NXT’s, either line, are the best all around in my experience.
